Essential Roles and Responsibilities
As an ITS and Traffic Signal Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful installation and operation of our products. Your responsibilities will include:
Technical Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of our products and services to provide exceptional support.
Travel and Installation: Travel to job sites for the installation and configuration of equipment, troubleshoot issues, and document all activities. This role is primarily field-based, with opportunities to work remotely from your home or a preferred shared workspace when not on the road.
Frequent Travel: This position requires extensive travel throughout Northern California, Oregon, and Washington, with occasional trips to other states. You will use a company vehicle for regional projects, along with air travel and overnight stays as necessary.
Schedule Management: Manage your own schedule effectively, coordinating installations, repairs, and meetings to ensure smooth operations and avoid conflicts. Regular communication with management about your assignments and any scheduling concerns is essential.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers to understand project scopes and requirements before heading to job sites. Attend project-related meetings and provide updates as needed.
Installation Duties: Execute field installations, including equipment setup, cabling, configuration, calibration, and troubleshooting. Ensure that all tasks are completed thoroughly before leaving a job site.
Training: Provide product training for customer agencies or contractors to enhance their understanding of our solutions.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of repairs, installations, and issues, and keep management informed about patterns or recurring problems.
Continuous Learning: Utilize downtime for professional development, learning about new products, technologies, and best practices in the field.

Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
Proficiency in using a Windows laptop and relevant applications.
Ability to read plan sheets or blueprints for proper equipment installation.
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and Real ID for air travel.
Basic knowledge of electrical concepts (AC/DC currents, voltage) and the use of multi-meters.
Familiarity with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, and cable strippers.
Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
Ability to recognize and respond to potentially dangerous situations on job sites.
Physical Requirements
This position involves physical activity and the ability to:
Work outside in various weather conditions.
Drive for extended periods and travel via airplane.
Perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds.
Utilize hand tools and technology efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications

IMSA Level II or III certification.
Manufacturer certifications (e.g., FLIR, Miovision).
Electrician license at any level.
Familiarity with ITS devices, networks, and components.
Understanding of signal phasing, traffic safety, and roadway configurations.
